As a senior at Oakton High School in Vienna, Virginia, I am highly interested in the humanities, and I focus much of my energy on understanding and creating art. I am the co-president and co-founder of my school’s photography club. I was on track to pursue a career in ballet until a recent change of heart; since, I have explored various other opportunities, including an internship in Congress. I love anything related to art and culture, and I am always excited to help spread awareness of the arts to others!
I am a homeschooled senior in Bethesda, Maryland. My greatest passion is history, especially when there is art involved, and I also love theater and film, both acting and design. I’m going to be costume designing for a teen theater company this year, as well as volunteering at the Smithsonian’s archaeology lab, ushering at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, and making student films with my friends. Some of my favorite activities are reading, cosplay, listening to classic rock, traveling to exciting new places, and perusing fashion magazines.
I am a senior at K12 International Academy. I chose online high school so I could pursue an art career. I had my first show at Maketto in January 2017 and completed a 132-foot-long mural for POW! WOW! DC on the Metropolitan Branch Trail. I spent a week in Copenhagen volunteering for MAD5, the international food symposium. Outside of art, I enjoy good food and learning about agriculture.
I currently am a junior at McLean High School in Virginia, and I love learning about art and history. I am a class council representative of my student government, committee member for Relay for Life, and variety quiz bowl member. I enjoy tea, puns, and sketching when I have time. This will be my second year as a member of the Freer|Sackler Teen Council.
I am a senior at School Without Walls High School in Washington, DC. I am part of my school’s orchestra and the Chinese culture club. I’m a sophomore at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland, and I am passionate about all things related to fashion and design. I am co-director of WCHS’s costume association and fashion club. I love working in groups because it gives me an opportunity to work with my peers and exchange ideas. In my spare time I enjoy patternmaking, working on my fashion line, and learning about different textiles and embroideries from around the world. I am very excited to work with the council and create a documentary!

I am a senior at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland, and my favorite subjects are English, French, and history. I am the president of our school’s chapter of the National English Honor Society, co-editor of the arts section of our school newspaper, and president of To the Nines, a fashion club. My two greatest passions are journalism (for its ability to effect change) and fashion (for how it can engage all forms of art to send a message). It should come as no surprise that my dream job is to be an editor at a fashion magazine.

My extracurricular activities include planning events for homeless children and participating as a member of the speech and debate club. I am also learning several languages through formal study, including Russian, Chinese, French, Arabic, and German. I have been an international host sister for five girls from several different countries. I enjoy reading about government, law, history, and politics.

My favorite things to do are going on adventures to new places with my friends, painting, and acting. You may recognize me from a 2014 commercial for a teacher training course. I daydream a lot about all the things I’ll draw, all the movies or documentaries I’ll make, and books I’ll write. Currently, I’m at that new chapter in my life of applying to colleges as a homeschooler and beginning to understand who I am and what I am meant to do. This will be my second year as a member of the Freer|Sackler Teen Council.
