2016 Teen Council
I am a senior at St. Anselm’s Abbey School in Washington, DC, and I plan to study art history in college. I am a member of my school’s cross country team, jazz band, and mock trial team, and I founded our Chinese language and culture club. In my free time, I love to play sports, write, and take city/street and landscape photographs.
I am a junior at the Field School in Washington, DC. I have been a potter for five years and am very passionate about preserving, teaching, and learning about art. Many of my influences come from Japanese artists.
I am sixteen years old and a senior at Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield, Virginia. I am a member of Key Club, a volunteering club for teens, in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC, area. Some of my favorite things to do include drawing, helping others, cooking, and reading.
I am a senior at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, in the Literary Media and Communications Department. I’m an avid reader, and I love writing and storytelling. I plan to attend college in fall 2016, majoring in film. I am a member of a spoken word and performance club, as well as a book club. Some of my favorite interests include crafting, graphic design, photography, turtles, and food.
I am a senior at Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Maryland. I am a member of the peer ministry and the BMHS women’s varsity soccer team, and I am the president of the school’s Foreign Awareness Culture Club. I hope to major in visual arts with a minor in business next fall. Some of my favorite things include sleeping, drawing, and food.
I am a freshman at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Maryland. I am part of an environmental club and have started a film club at my school. I speak French and like to travel. Some of my favorite things are playing basketball and soccer, listening to music, watching and making movies, visiting Smithsonian museums, working in a team, and dogs.
I’m a senior at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia. I’m interested in art history and anthropology. My hobbies include drawing, playing/listening to music, and watching documentaries.
I am a junior at McLean High School in Virginia with a heavy interest in the arts. My favorite mediums are pencil and acrylic (sometimes I take a stab at oil paint). Recently, my interests have gravitated toward ancient Chinese art and calligraphy after my experience at the Palace Museum in Beijing. As the president of my school’s art history club, I sometimes gather classmates and friends for museum trips.
I am a senior at Woodbridge Senior High School in Virginia. I am a member of the National Honor Society and take AP art at my school. I feel passionately about sharing the beauty of art with others and intend on studying to become an art teacher or museum curator. My favorite things are drawing, volunteering, reading, and dogs.
I am a dual enrollment student at Northern Virginia Community College. I am the secretary of the film club at NOVA while taking as many art classes there as I can. I spend most of my time in museums and walking around DC when I am not watching or creating my own films. I love to read as much as I can, especially with a cup of coffee in my hand.
I am a junior at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington, DC. I participate in the art club and serve as assistant stage manager for my school’s theatrical productions. I am taking AP studio courses to prepare for college. Recently, I began working as a decorator and baking assistant at a bakery in DC. I love music, art, organizing events, and baking.
I am a sophomore at the SEED School of Washington, DC, and my favorite subjects are history and art. I am the treasurer of the student government association at my school. I play volleyball and run track, and I am a mentor for two sixth graders. Some of my favorite hobbies are swimming, sewing, helping others, reading, and listening to music.
