The Freer Gallery of Art opened to the public in 1923, and the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery welcomed its first visitors in 1987. Today, the Freer|Sackler makes inspiring connections among Asia, America, and the world.
Following a two-year renovation project, we are excited to share with you revitalized buildings and all-new exhibitions. Inside the Sackler, you’ll discover cats of ancient Egypt, bells of ancient China, contemporary art from India, and Buddhist art from across Asia. Inside the Freer, reimagined galleries center on universally relevant topics in our permanent collections.
We’re celebrating with a full reopening season, featuring a spectrum of special public programs and activities. Find out more about upcoming events, and sign up for our e-newsletters to stay up-to-date.
