Anne van Biema American, 1915 - 2004
Emperor Yvryaku, who reigned in the late fifth century, overpowers a wild boar (the twelfth animal of the zodiac cycle) by stamping on the animal's neck and head. The swirling lines in the background enhance the effect of swift movement.
