 The painting was acquired in the mid-1950s while the donor was working in the American Embassy [Taipei]. According to notes from Joseph Chang dated June 12, 2001, the painting was created either for the donor or for his family members by Dong Zubin. See also Curatorial Remark 1 in the object record.
