Detached folio from a dispersed copy of the Shahnama (Book of kings) by Firdawsi; Persian in black nasta'liq script; recto: text: Siyavush is killed by Gorvizara, four columns, eighteen lines of text; verso: illustration and text: Siyavush before Afrasiyab; one of a group of two folios.
Border: The painting and the text are set in gold, red, and green rulings on cream-colored paper.
