Detached folio from a dispersed copy of the Shahnama (Book of kings) by Firdawsi; text: Persian in black nasta'liq script, headings in gold; recto: text, The story of the poet Daqiqi, and text about the composition of the book, four columns, twenty-five lines; verso: text, panegyric to Sultan Mahmud; four columns, twenty-five lines; one of a group of six folios.
Border: The text is set in gold, red, and green rulings on cream-colored paper.
