- Description
-
Shape: Fragment of the neck and mouth of a celadon-glazed jar. Wheel thrown. The shard wall is 0.5 - 0.6 cm thick.
Clay: The body is made of a fine, light-gray clay having few inclusions.
Glaze: The glaze is finely crazed and is a pale seawater-green in color. The fragment is glazed inside and out with the glaze on the mouthring and inside of the neck in very good condition. The glaze on the outside of the neck appears to be under-fired or otherwise degraded as the result of improper kiln conditions.
