Fragment of jar shoulder, iron-brown glaze

Shape: fragment from the shoulder of a jar. Wheel-thrown.
Clay: Gray stoneware, 0.7 cm thick. The body is fine-grained with relatively few inclusions or air pockets.
Glaze: Streaky blackish-brown glaze has adhered well to body. The glaze below the single raised horizontal band has the characteristic diagonal, upper right to lower left streaking noted by John Shaw and other authors on well-provenanced San Kamphaeng pieces. The glaze streaking is less pronounced above the horizontal band.
Decoration: None.
