[1] Collector Taniguchi Toyosaburo of Osaka, Japan, presented 95 paintings that had long been in his collection to the Freer Gallery of Art in 1976, as a gesture of goodwill to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial.

[2] In 1997, the hanging scroll was transferred from the Freer Study Collection to the Freer Gallery of Art permanent collection.
