- Description

Clay: Soft beige stoneware.
Glaze: Coated with white slip. Body probably dipped into slip, then foot dipped; slip layers overlap a little. Slip chipped off where thick in the overlapping area and around rim. Entire vessel dipped into clear glaze, appear green where thick. Fired on top of fine sand, some granules adhering to glaze inside of foot. Interior bottom has five ground down scars from wads of clay used for stacking. Different kind of clay used for these: sandy yellow clay with big white and black granules. Large part of interior wall stained brown except near the rim. Exterior wall is only partially stained; otherwise greenish white.
