Covered box with domed lid and bud-shaped knob.
Clay: light gray stoneware with black flecks.
Glaze: thin, transparent, crackled, somewhat degraded, greenish where thick on interior of body. Inside of lid, base and foot unglazed. Semicircular pontil scar on base.
Decoration: painted in underglaze iron: concentric circles surrounding knob; vinescroll with large fanciful leaves, dotted background filling edge of lid and wall of body, overlapping seam; three horizontal lines at lower edge of vinescroll design.
