Published early in the history of full-color printing, which began in 1765, many of Harunobu's prints depict youthful women in domestic settings. Here a woman holds a morsel as her pet stands on its hind legs. A child sits close behind her. The sliding paper-covered shoji panel stands open to a view of the garden.
