This bowl is probably from the Chengguan kilns. Many workshops competed with the Yaozhou kilns by producing similar wares; sometimes only subtle differences distinguish the wares. This Yaozhou-type bowl was covered uniformly with two layers of glaze, including inside the footring. The bowl's overall green color reveals its manufacture outside Yaozhou. The decoration was imparted by a much-used mold that was worn at the center; hand carving sharpened the details.
