Christina Elliott earned her BA in English literature from Whitworth University in 2005. In 2010, she received her MA in museum studies from George Washington University in Washington, DC. As a graduate student, Elliott interned in the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery and in the Curatorial Department at the National Law Enforcement Museum. She spent three years in marketing and communications at the White House Historical Association in Washington, DC, before joining the Freer|Sackler in June 2017. She coordinates the curatorial assistants and works with the Chief Curator and the Ebrahimi Family Curator of Persian, Arab, and Turkish Art, the Assistant Curator of Islamic Art, and the Assistant Curator for the Ancient Near East.
